Mobile e-Learning for School of Health Sciences (PDA)
Dear incoming Year Twos and Year Threes,
Congratulations! The School of Health Sciences is moving to using PDAs for Mobile e-Learning.
All Year 2 and Year 3 students will have to own a PDA for their lessons.
The School has linked up with HP vendors to offer the HP iPAQ 112 with three year pick-up-and-return warranty at only $511 ($546.77 with GST). The PDA will come with a drug database, a medical dictionary, a lab and diagnostic tests guide, a diseases and disorders guide, clinical elogbook, translator, and many other software. If students buy their own PDA, they will have to buy their own software and pay more than $1000.
For 2008, the vendors will set up at HS Block 81 at Level 6 on April 16, 17, and 18 from 9am to 6pm. Please buy during this period. The vendors only accept cash or NETS.
Students with financial difficulties, you may qualify for the 
Financial Assistance Schemes (FAS) for PDA. Please send the completed form with proof of your household income (e.g. photocopies of latest salary slips, letters from employer or income tax returns of your family members) by hand to the Student Services Office (Blk 4 #01-07). Please do this as soon as possible, preferably by 31 March 2008. Please ensure that the completed form and the income documents are stapled together.
